Perks of Winning [TAG: Odette & Cale]

Odette looked up at Cale for a moment. "What happens to me has nothing to do with you, so stop blaming yourself," she said and turned her look down again. "And you seem to be really good at hiding that you care, so I don't think you have to worry about that," she mumbled angry.

'Of course it does, if it wasn't for me you might have been adopted into a nice family and have been far away from the life you have now,' he said, no matter how much the truth annoyed him.
He had a responsibility to take care of her, he'd felt that way ever since the orphanage. Even if it meant hurting her, it was always so she'd be taken care of in the long run, 'I have my reasons for hiding things from you, but if I could do it any differently then I would,' Cale stopped for a moment and tilted her head up so he could look into her eyes, 'have you told anyone that you know me?' he asked seriously, knowing that if someone he met in here knew and wanted to play a game with him just for the fun of it, then she would be the one to suffer.

Cale was so annoying to listen to. She had so many things she wanted to say. About how she had been so old by the time they were adopted, so the chances of actually being adopted by anyone had been very slim. About how she was the one who had wanted to join him, even when he had told her it was a bad idea. About how she missed the times where she had thought she really meant something to him. About how if he really cared about her, she would prefer if he just showed it, but if he didn't care about her then he should just continue as he did now. But in the end she didn't say anything. She just looked him directly in the eye when he tilted her head upwards, with no expression on her face. "They knew from the start that you were my brother," she said eventually. "So what's the point in hiding that fact? Just because I'm your sister doesn't mean I automatically mean anything to you. And if it's such a huge problem for you, what are you doing talking to me?" Her voice was dull, almost like if she had been talking in her sleep. But really she just wanted to break down and cry. But she couldn't let herself do that.

Cale threw his fist into the wall beside her head in anger, how could she be so naïve?

'The guards know, sure. But we're all just numbers in here. No one else could know unless you were stupid enough to tell them,' he said harshly, his fist still leaning against the wall, 'listen to me, do you want to die in here?' he asked, ignoring the fact that she didn't think he cared about her.

Odette looked away. "I went in here because I wanted to be alone," she said and paused for a while. "You can leave now."

'You're never going to be alone in here,' he said and sat back, 'the sooner you realise that the better.'

Cale leant back on his hands and stared up at the ceiling, from her reaction he knew that she must have told someone about their relationship, all he needed to do was figure out who and if need be make them see that she meant nothing to him. I'm doing it to protect her, he thought as he turned back to look at her, just like before..

'So who was your first cell mate in here?' he asked, ignoring her request for him to leave.

Odette sighed and watched him sitting there. She knew there was know way she could force him out of there.
"Someone a lot nicer than you," she mumbled and got up from the floor. She walked over to the shower, stripped out of her prison suit and turned on the water. Just because he wouldn't leave didn't mean she had to pay attention to him. Eventually he would probably stop with all the questions.

At least that's something, he thought with a smile as she stood up, but I still have no idea who that could be.

Cale stood up and followed her, leaning over to whisper in her ear, 'so, what was their name?'

Odette turned her head slightly to get a look at him, but then turned her head back and covered her face in the running water, pretending he wasn't even there.

'I'm not going anywhere until you tell me,' he said, leaning against the wall and crossing his arms across his chest. He watched her and grinned, 'I can wait here all day..'

"I'm sure you could," Odette said and turned off the water. She wringed her hair before she put her clothes back on. "That doesn't mean I'm going to tell you anything, though," she said as she walked past Cale to the other room. She knew he most likely had a reason for wanting to know, but right now she had just put in her mind that she wasn't going to tell him anything.

'Is there something wrong with me being curious?' he asked as he followed her, not letting her get away without telling him anything at all, 'maybe I just want to thank this person for being so nice to you.'

"Because you always just want to thank the people I know, don't you?" she said in a sarcastic tone and sat down on her bed.

'Things are different now..' he started before thinking of another way to try and handle this, 'you know if you really want me to leave you alone, then you could tell me their name and I'll do as you say,' he said, lifting his hands in the air as if he was surrendering to her demands.

Odette looked as him. It was kinda fun seeing him this frustrated. But she didn't want him to leave her alone. She was just tired about his questions. She didn't think Meg would be a threat to either of them so there was no point in telling Cale about her. He might end up being a threat to Meg and that was something Odette didn't want.
"Just worrying so much," she said annoyed. "That person might be part of the reason we are both in this room. It doesn't matter who it is."

'You mean the contest?' he said, thinking about it for a moment, 'so this person is a woman, huh?'

Odette realised she had said too much, but it was too late to take back now. But she knew there was plenty of girls in here. But then again, she knew he would have seen her with them. "What do you plan on doing to her?" she asked angry and slightly nervous.

Cale recalled when he saw her on the tv, how she pretty much immediately went to a brunette girl during the contest, as if she was safest with her. Cale tried to remember what the other girl looked like and as her face formed in his mind he smirked and thought, gotcha!

'Plan on doing what to who now?' he asked carelessly as he lay down on the other bed, content that he knew exactly who to keep quiet, if he ever saw her in person that is.

(OOC: Should Meg be worried O-O Cale is scary sounding xD)

She did not like that smirk on his face. "What is it you are so afraid of? Why is it so terrible that someone know you are my brother?" She didn't see how this was a big deal. It's not like Meg was some psycho mass murderer or anything. Why couldn't Cale understand that?

Cale suddenly sat up and glared at her, 'I am not afraid of anything,' he growled lowly, although he knew that wasn't true, he didn't want to admit it to her. He turned away before adding, 'let's hope you never find out why..'

"Fine," she mumbled and laid down on her bed, just staring at the ceiling. Why did he have to be so difficult and annoying all the time?

Cale lay there for a while thinking about all the stupid things he'd done to get himself locked up, when he realised that the only good thing in his life was lying right next to him and he was spending the limited time they'd have together not talking.

Eventually Cale stood up and moved over to her bed, tracing his finger across her cheek as he looked at her. He frowned slightly as he thought about when his father made him end things with her, only a few days before they were arrested. He still couldn't believe he let his father talk him into shutting her out completely, not that he was really ever into talking about his feelings before then.

Odette closed her eyes and just thought about everything that was going on in this place. She heard Cale rise from his bed, but she kept her eyes closed until she felt his finger on her cheek. She looked up at him. "What do you want?"
