I'm the ghost haunting you in your dreams [Tag: HELGA (and EVA, if she wants to)]

Jane woke up slowly, sitting up on the cold floor. She hold her head and sighed. Room switch. Because she knew, she had been sitting on the bed, while talking to this woman. Marina. Jane pursed her lips. For some reason she didn't liked that brunette.

Jane lifted her head and looked around, realising, that she had been in this room before. Her mouth opened and formed a silent word. Shit.

It was her old room. The one she had been when she came in here. Jane sighed. If Sinclair was still the guard here? Jane stood up and slowly walked to the bars, sitting down next to them. But...

Why did she do this? The last time she had seen the female guard, she had told her that it would be for the best that they never meet again. That they won't be friends.

Helga twirled her baton and crossed her arms, slowly pacing the halls. The new prisoners had just been released to their new cells that morning, and Helga was eager to toy with the new meat. She smirked as she looked into each cell. She recognized some inmates but others she had never seen before.

Helga finally got to the middle of the hall and looked into the cell. She felt her body go numb. It felt like a thousand needles were piercing her body. She could barely move let alone speak. The woman she saw inside the cell looked exactly like Jane. No, it had to be a trick.

"J-Jane?" she asked slowly, swallowing hard. She couldn't believe her eyes. This must've been a trick from Korso. Helga had killed Jane. Didn't she? She felt her body tremble as Jane fixed her eyes onto Helga's.

Jane lifted her head and looked into the female guards eyes. "Hey.", she answered in a low voice, while a soft and sad smile curled up on her lips. The female seemed somehow to be shocked to see her. Jane sighed. No doubt, it had something to do with their last meeting.

Jane looked back into the cell, her eyes shortly meeting the body of the blonde woman on the cold floor. She wasn't sure if she should go back into the cell. It had been a stupid idea to go to the bars. Otherwise...

Jane took a deep breath and turned her head back to the guard. "How have you been?"

(OOC: I'm going to go ahead and reply and if Eva wants to join, she can hop on in! ^^)

Helga stood there, slowly blinking her eyes and staring at the woman. Jane looked so beautiful, so radiant. "I thought.." Helga lowered her voice. "I thought you were dead.." Helga let the tears fill her eyes. She bit her lip and walked closer to Jane.

Helga slid her hands through the bars and took Jane's hands into hers. "Is it really you? My Jane?" Helga couldn't breathe. She felt overwhelmed with her feelings toward Jane. She thought she would never see her again.

Jane opened her mouth and closed it again, looking surprised at the guard and then at their hands. Why should she be dead? What had happen to that sensitive female?

"What has he done to you?", she whispered. They knew their kiss would've had consequences, but assuming her dead?

Helga shook her head and stared at the woman. "Korso," she started to say. "He told me you were dead.. He made me think I had killed you." Helga felt numb with her words. "You don't know how happy I am to finally see you.."

Helga's mind raced violently, with so many thoughts running through her head. Helga no longer felt alone. With Eva, she filled the hole in helga's heart but her heart still remained cold. Jane had been the first person to show her love. She had been the first person that Helga felt close to. And Helga could never forget that.

"Jane, so many things have happened.." Helga whispered, squeezing Jane's hand.

"Why? I mean, why would he make you do something like this? It was just a kiss, though we knew...", Jane bit her lower lip, she was slightly shocked.

But this meant... It meant, he punished his guards like prisoners. Didn't he have any respect towards humans? Jane sighed. She would've understood, if she had been punished. But instead it was the female guard and Jane had nice times with another prisoner. Jane stared at her hands.

"What has happen to you?"

Helga bit her lip. "I've done bad things Jane," she said softly. She thought about killing Gaston and being the cause of the death of Flynn and Sinbad. She thought about the pain throbbing in poor Mulan's eyes and how Eva refused to talk to her. How everyone had hated her. Helga's eyes stung, but she kept the tears in.

"I've killed people. I've become the person that I hate the most." Helga still felt numb all over her body. She didn't know what to think or what to say. She was so happy that Jane was alive.

She shook her head and looked into Jane's eyes. "I have missed you so much.."

Jane lifted her head. "I killed people as well, am I now a person that must be hated? Does that make me a worse person?", she tilted her head. "You may killed people instead of protecting them like your profession tells you. But that doesn't make you a bad person immediately."

Jane reached her hand through the bars and touched the guards cheek, caressing it softly, wiping away some tears. "I missed you too..."

Helga felt Jane's hand on her cheek and she let out a small sigh of pleasure. She lifted her own hand to meet Jane's. "Thank you," she said, softly.

"I wish it wasn't.." Helga looked around the cells, searching for a camera. "I wish it wasn't like this." She said softly, under her breath. At that moment, Helga wished she was able to just hold Jane in her arms and kiss her until all the pain went away. She wanted that more than anything.

"What are you wishing for instead?", Jane asked softly. "We maybe never met, if it wouldn't be like this."

"I just wish I met you out of here.." Helga said softly, her voice trailing off. "I wish I had met you in a place where I can actually be next to you without bars in the way."

Jane sighed. "I would've wished for this as well. But you can't get me out of here. Not because of the things I did.", she shook her head.

"I know," Helga whispered, her voice very low. She was tired of dreaming of what could be. "Well on the bright-side," she started to say, trying to make her voice sound cheerful. "We have each other now. And that's all that matters."

"That's true.", Jane smiled. She wondered, if she should tell the guard about what had happen to her, while they hadn't seen each other. That Jane was in a relationship with CIllian now. That all she could have with her was friendship. A deep one. Jane sighed. Would that hurt the female? Jane didn't want to hurt her. But saying nothing would be like lying or not?

"We are always staying friends, do we?", she asked a bit shy. "Till the day I die?"

Helga gave Jane a soft smile. "Of course," she said softly. "No matter what, Jane.. I will always be here for you."

Jane sighed and took a strain of her hair. How should she telll her? Then she took a deep breath.

"We had a few cell swaps after our last meeting... and... you said we are just friends...", Jane chewed her lower lip. Why did this feel like betraying the female guard? But better she told her, than anyone else. Like Korso, who would definitely tell her lies about it as well.

"I met a man in one of the other cells. Someone I met earlier in my past too.", Jane took a deep breath. "I-I had sex with him and we are in a relationship now. Kind of.", Jane didn't noticed that some tears were dripping down her cheeks. Her heart hurted and she lifted her hand to lay it on the place where it was.

Cillian told her about the tasks they had to do. Even though she wasn't in one yet and she could just slightly imagine how painful they were, telling the blonde guard the truth must be worser than any task Korso could give her. If the woman could forgive her, Jane was sure, she could survive everything in here. Till someone killed her.

Helga remained silent. She felt cold sweat drip down her neck. She didn't know what to think, what to do. She just swallowed hard and stared at the woman. At first she felt anger. How could she? After all I did to be with her. But Helga took a deep breathe and stared at the ground. She couldn't lose Jane, not again.

Helga bit her lip to keep in the tears. She shielded her face, so Jane couldn't see her pain. "It's okay," Helga whispered. She realized that she would rather just be friends with Jane than not have her at all. But she couldn't help but still feel sad. Eva had left her and ignored her, and now Jane- the one person Helga thought she could have, has fallen in love with someone else. "It's really okay.." She repeated, taking a few steps back.

Jane wrapped her arms around her body. The feeling of a heart breaking into little pieces came back. She felt alone. Jane pressed her lips to a small line to supress the sobs that were coming from deep inside her, if she couldn't already hold back her tears.

"It's okay."

There was nothing okay. Not at all. Why didn't the guard yell at her? Why didn't she shout at her for all the things the woman did for her? Jane felt some anger grew up inside her. She didn't knew why. Just, that she didn't want to lose the female guard as friend. At any cost. Jane clenched her hands to fists.

Jane turned her head towards the female guard. Her eyes were slightly filled with anger, a dark shimmer glowing underneath and hardly to see, the tears still running down her cheeks. "There is nothing okay.", she said in a low and emotionless voice.

Helga turned around, surprised at Jane's reaction. "Jane," she said, walking up to the woman and wiping the tears from her cheek. "Don't cry, my Jane." She embraced the woman momentarily before looking up into her eyes. "All that matters is that you're happy. I just want to see you happy." She tried to give her a weak smile, but she knew she had not yet convinced her.

"Jane, I thought you were dead. And that was the worst pain I could have ever felt." She said to the woman softly. "But now you're alive and safe, and that's all that matters."

The guard's gentle embrace shocked and surprised Jane both at the same time. She sighed and felt the anger fly away. What was this, that the woman could ease her this easily?

"I want you to be happy as well.", she whispered. "But everytime I reach out for one thing, it seems like I'm losing something else. Something that has the same importance to me like the other thing.", Jane looked down at her feet.

Helga looked at Jane sympathetically. "Jane," she whispered, crouching down to talk to the woman more closely. "You're not loosing me. I'm right here." She placed her hand on Jane's hand. "Trust me, after all I've been through.. I don't care who you're with. I just want you to be alive and healthy."
