A Heavy Heart Is A Burden || {TAG: Chel}

Megara slowly began to regain conciousness, feeling the cold concrete floor beneath her body. Her memory was a little fuzzy...she was on her bed, talking with Hattori..her soft bed...It was gone. That could only mean they had been swapped again. She sighed deeply as she opened her eyes and slowly pulled herself into an upright position. Dimmed lights, concrete floor and bars. C division...
Lying across from her on the floor was a other female. She looked extremely familiar...Then it hit her. It was Chel. Her heart sank. She would have to share a cell with the woman who's sounds still haunted her. Dimitri must be out by now..on his way back home....it was for the besy. The further away the better.

Chel opened her eyes and sighed when she realized she was in a different cell again. Hopefully Mulan would hold up until they were neighbors again (or cellmates). She sat up and glanced over at her new cellmate, trying to remember her name but the knockout gas was making her mind a little foggy. "Ummm....Megara, right?" she said, rubbing her temple. Someone must've dropped her hard when they put her in. "I'm Chel. Nice to meet you."

She looked at the woman as she spoke, but didn't speak right away. Her mind was racing it barely registered that she spoke. "Yeah..but you can call me Meg. It's easier. Nice to meet you." She glanced around the cell. The only thing other than them and a toilet was a vase of dead roses...lovely.

"Alright then, Meg it is." Chel nodded, stretching. She took note of their new surroundings, a little put out there wasn't anything to sleep on, not even a lousy mattress. "Roses, my favorite. How did they know?" she said sarcastically. She leaned against the wall, laying her arms on her knees.

"Soooo, Meg... how have you held up since our little game?"

She couldn't help but smile slightly at her sarcastic comment. They were her favorite in all seriousness. She could remember helping her mother in the garden, tending the roses. Plus her last name was Rose, so that might have contributed.
"It's been alright I guess...how is your arm? Did it get any better after some healing time?" She crossed her legs and sat awkwardly with her hands in her lap. This would take some getting used to...

"Well, it didn't rot off, so it's good." Chel replied, holding up said arm. The letters were still bright red, but she'd gotten most of the blood off earlier. "Now if only I could get a tattoo around it to make it all nice and pretty. I'm thinking stars and rainbows, and all that mushy stuff." Maybe if she did a little more humor, Meg wouldn't look so uncomfortable. They were gonna be stuck together for a while, so Chel didn't want things to be awkward all the time.

She gave her a soft smile and nodded. "That's good. I'm sure it won't be too bad once it's healed." Her body relaxed, trying to get more comfortable. They would be stuck with each other for a while. "How have your past cellmates been? Anyone we should be worried about?"

"My cellmates have been okay so far. And I did know someone before this place.." Chel stopped, then looked around for the black folder with prisoners' info. She grabbed it from his place in a corner, then flipped through it for Tobias' file. Oddly enough, it wasn't there anymore. Did that mean...? "Strange. His file isn't here anymore. Maybe he died in the last game with Mulan's friend..." she tapped her chin in thought. Mulan had said two died. She never got any names from the kid though. God, she hoped Mulan had stayed away from Tobias. Any other possibility made her shiver.
"Anyways, I suppose the rest we'll just have to go by their files. There's a couple new guys in here." she scanned their crimes, but wasn't surprised some were rapists. Just wonderful. She passed Meg the folder for her own inspection. It would be a good idea to learn about the others, get an idea of how they ticked.

Meg tensed when Chel mentioned the person she knew could have died. So there had been another game.
When Chel mentioned additional files, she flipped through it, glancing at the pages. "They don't look too bad..."
She passed Dimitri's file and froze. Wait...wasn't he gone? She carefully switched back, hopeing that she had just mistaken it. But there it was. His file was still there...but he's supposed to be gone. Maybe they just forgot to take his file out? Hopefully that was the case.

Meg's expression didn't escape her notice. "What is it? You know one of the newbies?" Hopefully it wasn't that rapist guy. Or the kidnapper.
Chel looked over her shoulder at the file she was on, and when she saw who it was, her eyes narrowed. "His sentence is up... why's the file still here?" she muttered, though she had an idea as to the answer. Damn that Korso! He must have done something.

She felt like she couldn't breathe. If he was still here, that only gave Korso more chances to hurt him. If he did, she wouldn't be able to forgive herself. "I..I don't understand...he's supposed to be gone. Korso...it has to be." Guilt began to flood her body. Because of her, he had already been hurt. Now the only left for Korso to do his hurt him physically..or worse. Kill him..

"Goddammit." Chel hissed, slouching back against the wall. "I hate being right..." This was just solid proof for her. There wasn't any getting out of here...not alive anyways. "Korso probably pulled something out of his ass and the judge believed it." And who wouldn't? What was a con's word against a warden's? Absolutely nothing to the outside world. Chel struck the wall with her fist, knuckles scraping against the surface and leaving a trail of blood. "If I ever get the chance I'll rip that fucker's dick off and shove it down his throat."

Meg sat there, just staring at the page. Maybe she should feel relieved, maybe it's good that she doesn't. When Chel, punched the wall, it snapped her out of her panic. She unzipped her jumpsuit tearing off another strip of her tank top. "Here, it's going to be alright.." She toom Chel's hand and wrapped the cloth around her bleeding knuckles, just like she had with Dimitri.

Chel's shoulders slumped, her rage ebbing away. "It's not... it's not going to be alright..." she said quietly. "I hate being right. I knew none of us were ever going to leave but I'd hoped like an idiot some of us would. Especially him. He...he isn't a bad guy. He shouldn't have been here in the first place. He's a good guy. He doesn't deserve this place like me." Somewhere in the back of her head, she knew she probably shouldn't have been rambling on like she was, but she couldn't help it. She hated this place, hated how everyone was treated here by that self-righteous prick that was likely watching even right then. Maybe it was finally getting to her. Damnit, she needed to pull herself together!

She finished wrapping her hand and scooted back a little to give her space. "I know he doesn't belong here...but we can't change anything..no matter how much we wish we could." Her voice trailed off towards the end, probably only talking to herself. Sadness and guilt filling her voice. He was going to be hurt...all because of her.

"Story of my life." Chel replied wryly. She sighed, shaking her head. "And...thanks." she said quietly, "Shouldn't have shown I let it get to me so bad." It was what Korso wanted, and that made her ashamed of her outburst even more. She couldn't let him think he was winning.

She gave her a comforting smile and nodded. "No problem. I understand the feeling.." Maybe all too well..
She stood up and walked over to the vase of roses, picking one up to smell the perfume. It was the only thing real in this cell right now and it's going to keep her sane..especially now after finding out Dimitri is still here. Why was he still here...?

Chel 'hmphed' softly, taking a deep breath. "So who'd you piss off to get sent here?" There was something in her file about attempted murder. "Try to off some crotchety old rich guy or what?" The smell of the dead roses was giving her a headache. She never had been one for flowers. They'd always reminded her of funerals.

She looked at Chel but didn't say anything at first. "No...attempted revenge gone wrong." She looked away and sat in the corner of the cell, rolling the bud between her hands.

"Oh...sorry." Chel said, "Wish you could've gotten it. Revenge is a hell of a therapeutic thing." For most people at least. Personally, it had appeased inner demons and let her move on, but she'd heard for a lot of people, it did nothing.

"Maybe it was for the best. I wouldn't have met the people I have in here if it wasn't for my crimes..." Dimitri automatically came to mind whenever she said that, and Cillian of course was second. The only thing left to do was get out of this hell hole of a prison.

"You got a point.." Chel agreed quietly. Kida, Mulan, Dimitri... if it wasn't for this place, they would never have entered her life. Too bad there was no getting out. There would've been one hell of a party at her place. Hell, she might even invite Meg. Didn't seem so bad.

"So, got anyone on the outside?" she asked, trying to find a better, lighter topic. "Maybe a boooyyyfriend?" She wriggled her eyebrows for comedic effect.

Meg smiled and looked down at her hands. "No..no boyfriend. Not anymore at least." What she had with Dimitri was still a mystery to her. They had never really defined what they had, but it did explode into a huge fight and a break up. She looked back up at Chel with a smile on her face. "What about you? A boyfriend or family waiting for you back home?"
