NAME: Chel Vega AGE: 29 years old; born May 8, 1984 CRIMES: Sentenced to fifteen years for attempted murder, drug and sex trafficking. NUMBER: V47917
PERSONALITY: Chel could be pretty ruthless and uncaring of who she tramples on to get her way, when she wants to or feels is necessary to. She can be generous to those who stay on her good side, even taking care of them when needed. She's a hard worker and doesn't waste time. Her mood can change very quickly at times, such as from relaxed and happy to homicidal. This instilled the fear she needed in her men to keep power. Everyone's her bitch in her mind, or dead man walking (unless they prove they're equals). She has a need to keep control (even a little bit) over her surroundings. She hates feeling weak, and never wants to again. Something of a hero complex due to her past, she strives to protect those who can't do so themselves, even if it means her methods are less than legal. A kind of 'I'll be a monster so they won't have to be' mentality.
BIOGRAPHY: Born Chel Ramirez, she was the youngest child of three and the apple of her family's eye. She wanted for nothing, and basked in the love around her. It was a perfect start for a promising life. But that idyllic life was ruined when a cousin, the black sheep of the family, kidnapped her at age six and sold her to a deranged man. For the next several years, she was subjected to unimaginable horrors, eventually bearing her captor's daughter, Audrey. One day, he told Chel that she was getting too old, and that their daughter would be replacing her. Finding courage at last, Chel killed him in his sleep by burning the house down around him, slipping away to nearby Las Vegas with her baby girl.
Sometime after that, she gave up her daughter and sent her back to her parents' house so she could have a normal life. The next couple of years were a blur of working at a small club as a dancer and going home to an empty apartment. Things changed, however, when she met a small time drug dealer. He was the first person she opened up to, and soon fell for him. When it was clear he felt the same, they were married. Chel helped him run the business, and began pushing him to expand. But after only a couple of years of marriage, he developed cancer which wasn't caught in time and left to die in peace back in his childhood home, leaving Chel to handle their small drug ring on her own. She still grieves for him to this day, and avoids new romantic relationships like the plague, afraid to have someone and lose them like David.
Over the next several years, she began a campaign to dominate the Las Vegas drug scene. It was only later that she expanded into sex trafficking of minors, though she claims that the prostitutes were just fine with it (even coming to her for better protection from violent clients and former pimps), none were younger than sixteen, and they were treated very well under her.
Eventually, Chel had made a name for herself and secured her powerful position as a ruthless crime lord with arguably one of the largest gangs in Las Vegas. She was rumored to have killed dozens of business rivals and planned the murders of others, earning her the title 'The Godmother'. After taking out one rival, she and some of her gang went to one of their strip clubs to relax. Then one of her lieutenants who had the horrible idea of stealing some drugs and girls from her one night, and party hard before his new business could bring in a profit was brought back to Chel. Enraged by his show of disloyalty, Chel beat him, and was just about to shoot him when the police raided her house, after the corpse of business rival last seen in her company turned up near one of her rumored brothels (though there was insufficient evidence linking her directly to the crime, so she wasn't charged for this). Her right hand man was killed, along with several others, and she was taken into custody. It didn't take long for her to be found guilty of her crimes (what little had evidence linking her to them) and sent to jail. Now she can only wait out her sentence, and hope that the life she left behind will still be there when she gets back.
FRIENDS/ENEMIES/ACQUAINTANCES: Kida La Reine: Friendly rival. Respects her intelligence and inner strength. A little amused and bewildered by her attempted theft of dinosaur bones, views her as a little odd/artistic type. Still wary of her though. Mulan Fa: Friend/rival(?). Respects her tenacity. Theirs is perhaps a mentor-student relationship--at least in term of sexual experience. Over time, their relationship has developed into something sisterly almost, with Chel looking out for Mulan when she needs it. Afraid for Mulan's mental health and life. Tobias DeSoto: Enemy from the past. Quite glad that he's dead. Dimitri Donahue: He first caught her eye in the second contest. Though there was a rough start, things really started heating up after she opened up to him about her past, the first since her late husband, David. Lots of flirting. Oh so much flirting. Has a bit of a soft spot for him, but won't admit that, even to herself. Since Korso was able to keep him in prison, she worries that he might be breaking (if he hasn't already) and wants to help him keep going. Joseph Korso: BIG FUCKING ENEMY. In a short time, he has managed to jump to the top of her shit list. She now dreams of different, creative ways to kill him. Kuzco Rodrigues: Impressed by his crimes, Chel afforded him a little respect. There was little getting to know each other, but she liked that he complimented her. Mourns his death.
