Morning after branding (starring Dean, Mulan, and Eva!)

Dean walked through his section of the prisoner, with an emotionless look on his face. It was the morning after Korso branded everyone and left Dean to take all the prisoners back to their cells.

Dean was not happy when got his orders; he was still a little sore from lifting all the bodies. He had to take them down to Division 0... He thought, silently cursing Korso out.

He was glad when he got a chance to sleep some of the pain off before coming back to work.

He started whistling, before grabbing his baton and tapping it against C1's bars. "Yo, you two still alive?" He asked, making a half joke. 

It wouldn't be fun if they were dead yet.

Mulan jumps at the loud sound. She jolts up and reflexively looks over at the bars. Looking smug as last night is the asshole who sprayed her eyes with pepper spray. Awe damn it, what did he want? "Oh," Mulan stands and glances over at her cell mate. She was out cold. She looks back to Dean. "It's just you." She takes a step towards him before keeping over in pain.
"What the-" Mulan gasps, unable to finish her sentence. " What the hell! What is this?! Why does my neck..?"

Dean couldn't help but let out a laugh when she fell from the pain. "Yeah, something we do here; it's in case you forget your number. If you forget, you can have your cellmate read it to you."

"You'll have it forever, you know. Sure, it may fade with time, but you'll always be branded." He informed her, knowing how the burning of the brand went.

Mulan didn't even want to touch her neck. It just made the stinging sensation worse. Why? That's completely barbaric. "That isn't funny, shouldn't guards get branded too?! I think so." Mulan glares as he finishes laughing. "Did you wake me up just so you can laugh?" She spat out. "You wouldn't happen to have any gum would you?"

"Why would we get branded? I'm not the one behind bars, kid." Dean stated, smirking. "Oh, no, didn't do it just for that; just wanted to see how you like your new mark." He said, with a shrug.

"Nope, no gum, sorry." He stated, not even liking gum. "I wouldn't give you any anyways if I did have some; against rules for the guards." He stated, with another shrug.

"How is that against rules?" Mulan scoffs, pulling half a pack of cinnamon gum from her bra. She folds a piece into her mouth and stares at him a moment.
"Well I don't like my new mark, sir... I still don't know your name. And quit calling me kid!"

Dean shook his head and sighed. "You're not supposed to have personal items." He stated. "How the hell did you get away with that when they stripped searched you?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Can't give anything to the prisoners, unless it's bread and water, which you won't be getting until the afternoon." He said, with a smirk.

"Well.. see what had happened was the guards that were escorting me were getting touchy feely. You know? So that didn't really happen." Mulan tucks the gum back. "Do we have to share one slice of bread? Don't you think that's a bit excessive?" Mulan didn't really care. She was just glad he'd stopped calling her kid.

Dean rolled his eyes. Must of been some of the newbies... He thought, shaking his head.

"That's all we got for ya. What? You thought this would be like how they dramatize it on tv?" He asked, sarcastically.

"Who's dramatizing? If anything tv makes jail look like paradise. You guys are the ones dramatizing." Mulan pops her gum. "But seriously, what's your name?"

Dean rolled his eyes. "That's what I meant." He stated. "This is how prison is; the tv is the dramatization of it being "paradise"." 

"Read the name tag." He said, pointing to the name that that said "McCoppin". "That's all you need to know."

Mulan frowns. "Did you have a bad childhood? Or are you just mean? I had a good childhood and I was considered scary. Mean more so, but no one bothered so a little of both."

Dean rolled his eyes. "You're not considered a human being, so why treat you like one?" He stated, raising an eyebrow.

Mulan stared at him. And the anger she'd worked so hard to control shattered. Just like it did that night. Mulan races up to the bars and wraps her hands around them, an attempt to get McCoppin's face. "How dare you!" She shouted. "You roll your eyes a lot how about I roll them right out of your head!"
The memory of the pepper spray flashes in her mind. Damn it. She steps back, challenging him to come in. I've got more money than he'll make in his entire life!

(OOC: And so it begins lol)

Dean grinned, having been standing back just far enough to where she couldn't grab his face. "What? You think you're still human?" He asked, smirking at her being angry. 

"You know, I bet you're thinking the bars are protecting me from you, but, kid, hate to break it to ya, it's the other way around." He said, before tapping the bars with his baton again.

Mulan trembled with anger. "Go to hell! I'm not a kid you fucking leech!" She screams.

Dean looked at her with a bored expression. "You're seventeen; you're a kid." He stated, having read her file. "Just because you're old enough to be in jail, doesn't mean you're not a kid. In fact, the government is trying their best to make it to where being twenty-one isn't considered an adult." He informed her.

"Also, screaming and getting angry like you are now, just proves to me you are still a kid."

Mulan's fists ball up and she blinks away tears. "Get the hell away from me." She said through her teeth.

{OOC: I can't think of a response and I don't want him to leave because Eva will be joining it XD How about we stop for tonight, I'm feeling pretty tired from work today. If I can think of a reply later, I'll reply then }

Eva had woken up a while ago but preferred to be left alone so continued pretending she was asleep. She wanted to reach out and claw at the back of her neck until it bled and removed the prisoner number once Dean stated exactly what it was. She hated the idea of being owned, being reduced to mere digits. It still stung and she vaguely recalled the happenings of last night, the hot iron being held against her neck, it's fiery heat singing her skin. She was glad she couldn't scream, because she wasn't sure she'd have been able to hold it in that time. She had been so helpless, so paralysed. She had hated it with every fibre of her being.

Dean and Mulan's voices were becoming tense and she soon realised they had begun riling each other up already. Did these two never stop? Rising from the mattress, she made her way over to the cell bars, leaning against them with her right arm to face the other two.

"You two are enough to give anyone a migraine," Eva sighed. She had heard Mulan's age and some sort of motherly instinct had kicked in, she was only three years younger than herself but three years made the world of difference in the criminal industry. Nonetheless, she was more on the guard's side with this one. Jail was a harsh place and there was no point getting wound up about it, they had been reduced to a number, it was obvious they didn't believe them to be human. She saw the tears in the other woman's eyes and had to restrain herself from rolling her eyes. "Don't let him get to you and stop threatening him before you end up with your eyes hurting as much as your neck." She shrugged before turning back to the guard, who she read was called McCoppin.

"So McCoppin," Eva began casually. "When do the games begin?" She had been waiting for them to start and she was sure that last night was only a taster for what was to come. Korso had mentioned playing with them in their interview, so she could only assume it was him who had branded them last night. What was next? That was the thought that currently occupied her mind.

Mulan whirls, surprised to see her cellmate awake. But what she said only fueled her fire. Her eye narrow. That was the whole purpose of challenging him in. "You're taking his side?!" She demands, appalled. "He called us non human beings! So does that make me a demon Prince McCoppin?"

"I'm not taking anyone's side, this is not high school Mulan," Eva's voice hardened as her face furrowed into a frown. "I am simply giving you a reality check. What does rising to his taunts gain you?" She sighed, running her fingers through her hair and shrugging when she tried to defend her actions.

"And you care what he thinks?" Eva raised an eyebrow further. "I'd rather he thought we weren't, at least he realises that we are a lot more dangerous and a lot more intelligent than average human beings." She smirked, turning towards the cell bars and leaning against them with a small sigh. She was frustrated with the tension in this cell and the consistent drama Mulan provided.

"Well done Korso, you know what you're doing," Eva rolled her eyes. He had placed her with the noisiest, clumsiest and most obnoxious cellmate, just to see how she reacted. She was sure of it.
