Dulled Minds make Bad Ideas

Dimitri stirred. Or that was, would have stirred if something heavy wasn't holding his body down.
Opening his eyes slowly he realized Megara was sleeping on his chest, his arms locked around her protectively. Bad idea, he instantly thought. His mind must have been majorly dulled last night due to his tiredness. He was holding a half-naked, gorgeous woman in his arms, and any other guy would just be thrilled by this, but for Dimitri the nervousness and doubt took hold of him. He barely met this woman yesterday night, and he felt like he had taken advantage of her weak moment during the night. He hadn't done anything, hadn't kissed her, hadn't even had any bad thoughts as they laid down together but... this was so wrong.
She was still sleeping, so he gently unfolded his arms and tried to slide out from under her, trying to lay her gently down on her jumpsuit instead. He was halfway out, with his chest free and his lower legs trapped when she started to stir. Great. This would be a great position to see him in when she woke up. Idiot.

Meg felt movement under her body as she started waking up. Her eyes fluttered open to see Dimitri moving away. "Morning..." Her voice was soft abd a little groggy. She pushed up on her arms, rubbing her eyes gently with her right hand. "Is everything ok?"

"Yeah, fine," he said quickly in the most awkward crawling-out-from-underneath-something pose.
"Sorry, I just ehh, didn't want to wake you," he excused himself. It was partly true at least. He was blushing now, so embarrased that he had been caught like this. He felt like a douchebag on the same level as those who sneak out during the night after sex. Though this had never really been a thing.. just a way to stay warm during the night.

"Oh ok..." She sat up competley, not realizing she was in her underwear and her tank top had moved up showing more of her midriff. She couldnt remember the last time she had slept so good. No nightmares, nothing. It felt nice having a good nights rest.

When she got up, leaving him free he sent her the most awkward smile ever, but it was sincere.
As she moved up however, he realized that her tank top had moved upwards, and he swallowed as he saw the revealed skin. Even more so when he remembered what was underneath the rest.
He sat up, resting his arms in his laps as a futile attempt at covering his morning wood. Not that he thought about her that way, well, more than any guy would. Just normal morning wood. She probably wouldn't see it as that if she found out though.
"How did you sleep?" he asked smiling, to cover up the awkwardness and the silence.

She pushed the hair out of her face and behind her ear. "Pretty good. How about you?" Her eyes noticed that he was covering something up, realizing it was his manhood. Her face blushed looking away, noticing her jumpsuit on the floor. She grabbed it and laid it over her lap, covering her panties and as much skin as possible without putting it on. Was that why he had that?
The room began to feel colder than before, which was a good sign she probably wasn't sick.

"Good... good.." he mumbled, noticing her attempts at covering up. So she had noticed.
"So," he said, coughing, trying his best to take both of their minds off of this thing, though it seemed like everything he did and said only made it worse. If this had been on the outside, about now would be the time where he'd be back in his own appartment banging his head against the wall for being such a moron.
"You don't look sick," he smiled. He was genuinly glad she hadn't gotten ill during the night, but now it was more to cover up everything else and lead her mind over on something else.

She looked over at him and nodded. "Yeah, it's colder in here than before. Goosebumbs spread over her arms and legs, her nipples probably showing through her tanktop. She pulled the jumpsuit onto her legs and up to her waist, but not pulling it over her shoulders. He was nervous again, and it showed. She wasn't sure how to make him more comfortable...

He forced himself not to look at her perky nipples, but they were just too obvious even in his peripheral vision. He looked away from her and searched the room. The grim sights actually helped him right now. It was good to focus on something other than.. sexual stuff..
He wondered if her sudden coldness was just because he had held her all night and just now let go of her, or if it was an honest sign that she was getting better. He dared hope for the second option, since she hadn't puked or gotten pale.

She noticed he was avoiding looking at her so she pulled the suit onto her shoulders, zipping it up. An awkward silence fell onto them again as she played with the zipper of her suit. "Thank you...by the way..for last night." She looked over at him, giving him a small smile. She truely was grateful. He keppt her warm and kept her nightmares away.

"You too," he said and smiled warmly at her without thinking. Then he realized he'd been the one to help her, and though he kind of enjoyed just sitting up and talking, it was weird to show gratitude for it like that. He frowned at his own stupidity and looked down on the cold floor beneath him.
His instinct told him to get up and go to the bathroom, and stay there until the next cellswap. She must think him mentally challenged or something, and he just wanted to dig his own hole and stay in it forever. If only there had been a bathroom...
He sighed before his stomach gave away a growl. That's when he realized they hadn't eaten yesterday's food and it was still there by the door, even staler than it had been yesterday if at all possible. But it was still food.
"Hungry?" he asked friendly, turning around to face her again.

She smiled, leaning back against the wall as she stretched her arms over her head. "Sure, food sounds good." Standing up, she wallked over towards him and the food. It was staler than it usually was..it must have been sitting out all night

He smiled up at her, not wanting to move as he was still waiting for his morning wood to go down. So he sat there, waiting for her to break it in half or something.
"I always thought those orange jumpsuits were butt ugly. But orange looks pretty good on you," he said. It was a failed attempt at a compliment. He really did mean it, she looked good in orange. Or maybe she just looked good in general.

She grabbed the bread and broke it in half evenly before handing him a piece. "Orange is a horrible color, isn't it?" She said with a smile and sat down next to him, playing with the fabric on her leg. It was a nice compliment though. He was a really sweet men.

"Yes, yes it is," he said and laughed. It wasn't a big laugh, but it was genuine.
He took the piece she had offered and started nibbling on it slowly. It wasn't much. Sharing half a bread really wasn't enough to sustain them for long. He'd offer her more, but he was truly starving, and couldn't afford to lose any of the minor food they did have.

She nibbled on the bread in silence, looking at the wall. He was still having issues with his manhood, so she tried to avoid looking at him, giving him a chance to calm down. It was probably just because it was morning...he couldn't possibly find her attractive. Cillian was right, she was way too skinny. To plain. The jumpsuit was getting uncomfortable and itchy again, but it was too cold and she didn't want to make him uncomfortable.

He took turns looking down on the ground and up at her smiling. His 'excitement' was starting to fade now, but she had already noticed, and that awkwardness wasn't something she was going to get over any time soon, if at all. He blew it, just like he blew it with everyone else in his life. It wasn't a big mystery why he didn't have more friends.
"I'm really sorry," he blurted eventually after sitting in silence for a while contemplating his own stupidity. "You must think I'm the most pathetic, mentally challenged, awkward, bothersome moron you've ever met. I don't mean to be this way." After speaking it out loud he realized just how pathetic it was to excuse yourself for being. Not like one more thing to the list would do any real harm now anyway.

She looked at him in surprise when he suddenly blurted out. "Sorry for what? You're not pathetic or anything. You are one of the sweetest guys I have ever met." Her cheeks blushed when she realized what she had just said and quickly looked away from him. Why was she saying something like that? She shoudlnt be thinking of him like that. He probably thought she was crazy now...

He turned and looked at her in disbelief, his eyebrow raised and his smile crooked and sarcastic.
"I know you're kind and all, but you don't have to lie. Our conversations have been one awkward disaster after the other." And they both knew whose fault that was... Maybe he was just one of the weak links of nature, destined to be abandoned by his heard, die along and never multiply.

She looked over at him and couldn't help but smile. "Do I look like I'm lying?" Her bread was barely eaten since she was wasn't very hungry anymore. It was true, he was one of the sweetest guy. No one had ever offered to help her like he has. That's what she liked about him.

[OOC: So sorry, internet went out so I'm typing from phone. This will be the last post for tonight, hopefully it will be better tomorrow ^^'']

He gave her the same crooked smile. "You look like you'd be good at it if you tried, " he said honestly, mostly just to tease her. "I've annoyed and bothered everyone I've come into contact with since birth. I'd be surprised if you were any different. Just listen to me, even this conversation is pathetic and annoying!" He should just shut up. Now. Or earlier if possible.

She smiled and nudged his shoulder playfully. "Well I'm not lying. Its all true." She pulled her knees to her chest and rested her chin on her knees. It was getting colder in the cell, but she was trying not to show it.

He smiled weakly down on her. It was nice. Not that he particularly believed her much, maybe some of it was true, but no way she couldn't be annoyed by him after all of that. Still, it was nice to hear she was trying to make him feel better. That at least meant she didn't completely despise him right?
"Thanks," he said simply and shut up. He had already said way too much. Instead he ate more of the stale bread. He had grown too used to it now to complain about it. Just one more month and he'd be out of here anyway.

She nibbled on her piece of bread and focused her eyes on the wall across from them. She didn't know what to talk about anymore...they pretty much already talked about the basics introductions. What else was left? Her fingers played with the fabric on her knees, the akward silence falling onto them again.

"I'm really glad I got you as a cellmate," he blurted out. Really, it was just to break the awkward silence, but it was true. "You're really sweet and funny and all... and not psycho," he said, laughing at the last part. Every time they swapped cells he was a nervous wreck, imagining the worst cellmates he could end up with. So far he had seemed to be extremely lucky.
