Dulled Minds make Bad Ideas

She smiled and looked up at him. "Im glad you think I'm not psycho...and youre a good cellmate too." She was tempted to rest her head on his shoulder..he was just so comforting and she enjoyed that. Luck has been on her side in this place. She didnt have any crazy people or rapists as her cellmate, which was a good sign.

He smiled at her, laying his hand over hers and giving it a comforting squeeze. Then he removed his hand to eat more of what little bread he had left. His stomach still wasn't even half full and he was only a couple of bites from finishing. If this was all they got each day, he didn't know how he'd cope with that.
"How long are you in for?" he asked, making casual smalltalk.

She didnt look up at him and just stared at thev wall across from where they were seated. "I actually dont know. They never have me a set time...so I guess that means I'm stuck until they get tired of me." Usually when a set time isn't given means life..or an undecided amount of years. She knew that, but hoped it wouldnt be much longer. This place was already breaking her, and she vowed to her to her father that she would never be broken. She shook her head to push away the thoughts before looking at him. "What about you?"

He looked at her, rather sad that she would be stuck here for so long. It didn't seem fair.
"Just.. another month or two," he said rather muffled. Now he was kind of embarrased of his short time. It might upset her to let her know how easily he would get off compared to her. But a life sentence? That seemed grossly out of proportions with her crime. Specially when she seemed so cute, and she had been given great reasons for her actions!

She looked at him with her eyebrow raised slightly. "Two months? Thats a really short time..." His crime must have not been very bad...it made her wonder what it was even more. But it probably wouldnt be polite. Compared to him, she probably seemed insane or mentally scarred.

"I've already been in a couple of months, so technically that makes it four.." As if that would make her feel any better about it. "I'm sorry for you though.. that long doesn't seem fair for someone like you," he said and looked at her with sympathy in his eyes.

She sighed and leaned her head back against the wall, looking over at him. "Because of what I've done, I will forever be classified as a criminal, no matter how hard I try to change that. I'm a criminal...nothing more." It was true. People always treated her differently once they knew what she had done. It made people hate her, and thats why she hated her actions. Because of them, she would be stuck here..probably for the rest of her life.

He looked at her seriously. "I beg to differ." She was so much more than just a criminal, how could she even say that? "You are so much more. You're cute, and kind, and funny, and gorgeous," he said, stopping at the last word realizing how stupid that sounded. Why had he even added that? So much for blurting things out without thinking. But thinking about it now, he realized she really was all of those things. "And smart," he added thinking more about it.

She looked at him in surprise, speechless to his words. Did he really think of her that way? Her cheeks blushed as she thought of av reply. "Thank you but...I..I dont really see any of that..."

"Good," he smiled. "Wouldn't want you conceited over all of that. Might ruin things," he laughed, teasing her, but when she just stared at him in surprise it made him think he only sounded stupid to her. She was probably used to guys hitting on her all the time. Him complimenting her now when she was way out of his league was probably just awkward and pathetic.

She smiled and rested her head on his shoulder like she had the night before. It was beginning to become boring, but she didnt mind it. Everything felt so natural around him. To some girls he could have come across as clingy or annoying, but to her he was amazing, sweet, caring, everything a man should be. She looked up at him, keeping her head gently on his shoulder. "You are pretty amazing, just saying." She said playfully, but truly meant it.

His heart seemed to skip a beat as she let her head rest on his shoulder, and at her words it seemed to completely stop for a second. He stared down on her in disbelief, too shocked to even smile at her, though he felt really happy.
"No one's ever said that before.." he said honestly, still wondering if she was serious. When she didn't start laughing at him he relaxed enough to smile warmly down on her.

She smiled softly back at him, her hand gently resting on his. it was cute how flattered he got. "Its true ." She looked into his eyes, noticing every color and detail about them.

He smiled, staring down on her. He was starting to get the same urge he had last night, but this time he wasn't going to chicken out. He wasn't going to let this chance escape him. If she hated him after it, he was prepared for that. It wouldn't be the first time a woman slapped him and wouldn't speak to him anymore.
He leaned down, gently kissing her lips, barely touching them for fear she wouldn't like it. His heart was racing, and his face was flushed. He felt awful in every way of defining the word, and yet he felt.. happy.

Her cheeks blushed as she noticed him leaning down towards her, her eyes following his lips. When their lips met, her heart skipped a beat and her eyes fluttered closed. After a few short moments she gently kissed him back, placing her hand on his chest and bringing her body slightly closer to his. Normally, she wouldn't kiss a man after only meeting him the morning before, but Dimitri was an exception. He was different. He made her feel...happier safe.

As she brought her body closer he found the courage to wrap his arms around her, holding her loosely as to not scare her or break any boundries. She could break lose any time that she wanted to, and that was important. He wouldn't want her to feel like he was forcing her.
He broke the kiss to look down on her, but kept his arms in place. "Is this.. okay..?" he asked shyly. The same question he had used last night when they laid down together. She had kissed him back, but it wasn't unheard of for girl to regret it instantly. Specially not when it was him. For some reason though, she seemed as awkward as he was, and in some ways that brought him comfort and courage. Well, more courage than usually.

She felt his arms wrap around her and a small smile came to her face. As he pulled back, she looked up at him, her cheeks blushed red and her eyes full of shyness and insecurity. She shyly nodded her head giving him a gentle smile. "Yes, of course it is." It made sense that he would be unsure of what she wanted. He was awkward, but so was she. She was new to it all, especially since the only other man she had kissed was Cillian. Her mind filled with thoughts of Cillian, what they had done together and how he had saved her. Normally, that probably would have pushed away her desire for Dimitri...but it didn't. She liked Cillian but Dimitri made her feel...different. He made her feel like she belonged somewhere and she loved that feeling.

He smiled at her, letting one arm lose to caress her cheek gently, running his thumb over her skin.
"You sure he wasn't your boyfriend? Getting beaten to death isn't on my to-do list in here," he joked, but thinking back on it they had looked rather close. He didn't think she was the cheating type, but then again, she did look like she'd be good at pretending if she tried. He had never been particularly good at reading people...
Suddenly a second fear struck him. If she was or wasn't pretending, he had ruined the moment in either case.

She pulled back a little further, sitting back on her knees. Her mind went back to before the last cellswap. Were they something? Sure, they did sleep together once, but she still wasn't sure what it meant. She had become close to Cillian, so close she wouldn't know what to do if he was killed or something like that. What was she to him? And what was he to her? She bit her bottom lip, pushing away all of the thoughts. "We were just really close...Korso must have misinterpretted what we had..." She felt a littel bit of guilt, but it quickly vanished when she looked up at Dimitri. He was what she wanted. She knew that for a fact.

He could relate to that. He had also thought Korso had misunderstood when he paired him with Chel. He smiled at her to show he believed her and took her hand in his. His heart was still beating really fast, and every little thing he did scared him. He was worried that at any moment she would pull away, regret, or decide he was too clingy. Maybe he just shouldn't do anything else, wait for her to do what she wished. Take it slow, or something.

She looked up at him, giving him a soft smile as he took her hand. He was what she wanted...but was she what he wanted? He didn't seem that close to Chel, but they had been put in that contest just like she and Cillian had. Maybe they had done the same things...maybe he slept with her, and Korso wanted to use that against them. She quickly pushed all of those thought away. That is not something to think about now. It was all in the past. If Korso wanted to use him against her, he can go right ahead. She promised herself she would fight against him, no matter how hard it was. She would protect those she care about. No one else would die because of her. Leaning forward a little, she gently kissed his lips, hoping he felt the same way she did.

Dimitri leaned into the kiss, still holding her hand. He lifted it to his chest so she could feel how fast his heart was beating. Maybe it was a bad idea to let her know how he felt so early, maybe it would scare her off.
A million thoughts were running through his head, half of them purely happy about this happening, but the other half completely terrified that this could end any second, and end badly.

She could feel his heartbeat as their chests rested against each other, glad that it was almost as fast as hers. All her thoughts of Cillian and Korso were flushed from her mind. Her body moved over so she was straddling his hips, but stayed slightly up on her knees so she wouldn't put too much pressure on him. He could move her whenever he wanted to. If he didn't want her that close, she understood, so she gave him the freedom he needed. She gently placed another kiss on his lips, her arms wrapped loosely around his neck.

He broke the kiss in surprise when she stradded him.
"You ehh... what are you..?" he stared at her in surprise. Not that he really minded, but this was going so fast it really scared him. Maybe she didn't want anything more from him than Chel did. Had he really just been that foolish and stupid? Of course she couldn't care for more than his body, it had only been a couple of days. What had he been thinking?
